"Helping people live better lives in Mooresburg, Tennessee"

Providing approx. 1,500 meals per month. Our collection of services provides that little helping hand which can make the difference between living at home and making an unwanted move to a long term care facility.

What’s New

The Mooresburg Community Association is finishing up our grant commitment with the East Tennessee Foundation. We were awarded a grant back in the fall to support our Meals in the Hills program. The MCA used the Neighbor to Neighbor 2 funds to keep the food supply OK for 2000 meals each month. A big surprise was that one of our 2 ovens stopped working and luckily we had some ETF funds to replace it. Kathleen didn’t miss a beat.
We must begin anew… Our spending period for the funds provided by Meals on Wheels America for its Meals on Wheels Loves Pets program is expiring. We hope that it helped everyone who received pet food and were able to get some relief out of it. Thank you again Meals on Wheels America, for allowing us to service our community. We now move into our self sustaining pet food program. Look for Pay it with pet food day at the thrift store. We hope the school will host a pet food drive for us, and local businesses like Dollar General, will have a pet food drive.
November 1,2020
The Mooresburg Community Association has earned the privilege of receiving much needed grant funds during the COVID pandemic. Our work and affiliation with the East Tennessee Foundation has resulted in our second Neighbor to Neighbor Disaster Relief grant. Because of ETF, the MCA will continue to serve our seniors and disabled neighbors with a daily meal, delivered to their door. We will use these funds for wages for our cook Kathleen, food to serve 2000 meals each month, and literally to keep the lights on among other needs. East Tennessee Foundation is an essential partner in keeping us cooking, delivering and thriving.
We Have Pet food!
As of 8/25 we have been approved for a Meals on Wheels America Loves Pets grant to provide our Meals in the Hills community with pet food  for those who are in need at this time. We know that in Mooresburg, our furry friends are a large part of our lives! Therefore, we want to help support them as we continue to face COVID as a community. If you are within the community and would like to help this project you may donate pet food to the community center. Watch our Facebook page for “Pay it with Pet Food Day!” Soon we will be accepting pet food as payment at the Friends and Neighbors thrift store. We will also be going to the school to provide a pet food pantry for the families within the school that have pets! Thank you Meals on Wheels America, for allowing us to service our community furry friends, and to help the owners who have been struggling through COVID! We know how expensive pet food can be and we are so excited to start our pet food relief program!
The Mooresburg Community Center is open for lunch and crafts Mondays and Wednesdays.
Please observe our protocols, including  temperature checks, masks, and hand washing. If you have any symptoms of COVID 19 or any other illness, please do not come the the center, Thank you

In December 2020, we delivered over 1560 meals in 27 delivery days ( closed from Dec 24-Jan 4), over 265 people with food pantry boxes, over 3100 lbs of food to families, and  1100lbs of pet food!
