Next Week at the Community Center

Tuesday, September 16. The Feeding America Mobile Foo Pantry truck set up this month at a new location. Everything went great!! We served 119 families in about an hour. Thank you to all who made the first distribution at the Open Arms Mission a great success!!

Wednesday September 17 Concrete Flower pots, (these are way cool, different, functional and easy to make)

USDA Commodities: If you have filled out at 2014-15 application with me, please pick up your                                                        box at the center. If you haven’t the distribution will be at the National Guard Armory from 9am                                                      til supplies last .

 

Thursday September 18 Birthday Lunch Field Trip. We are off to the Longhorn Steakhouse in Morristown. We leave the center at 11am or meet us at the restaurant at 11:30. Please call and let us know if you are joining us so we can include you in our reservation  count.

 

2 ITEMS.. VERY IMPORTANT!!

It is time to renew the applications for USDA commodities 2014-2015. The next distribution is scheduled for Wednesday September 17th and you must have an updated card if the Mooresburg Community Association picks up for you. Stop into the center for an application before September 10th. If you pick up your own commodities, you may stop into the Neighborhood Service Center in Rogersville or fill out an application at the distribution on the 17th.

 

Energy Assistance applications will be available on October 1st. The application must be filled out entirely, accompanied by proof of income, and this means a copy of the award letter from Social Security if you receive your income from SS, a bank statement will not be accepted. A copy of all household members’ social security card and a copy of your highest energy bill from the last 12 months.

The application will be mailed, but they are going to the LIHEAP office in Kingsport, not Rogersville, as in the past. If you want an application, please come to the community center.

 

Who We Are

The Mooresburg Community Association is made up of a partnership of dedicated staff, area churches and private community representatives to form a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose goal is to provide services for residents who wish to maintain their independent lifestyle in Mooresburg, Tennessee.

What We Do

We provide services for our neighbors so that they may continue to live independently in their home. Services include “Meals in the Hills” home delivered meals program, in house dining, recreational activities, and transportation to medical appointments.
